PAL to NTSC home dvd burner advantage ???

Just a note for those of you who purchased home dvd burners like Panasonic DMRE series. If you find a dvd that is pal and have a dvd player that can deal with multi-region or pal product just shoot it out to your home burner S-Video in the higher qualtiy mode and there is your NTSC disc. I know there are other ways ( all wich seem to involve re-encoding anyway ), but I have had a booger of a time with a downloaded region 2 PAL movie in the .IMG form that dvd decrypter could burn but players gave region errors. Even burnt it to disc then ripped back to HD with all they "remove" boxes checked and still no dice on re-burn on my 2 Sony & 1 RCA DVD players. So I put the disc in a "does everything" dvd player..APEX and copied to Panasonic DMR-E30S wich really does a fine job. This was after 4 coasters and some Vodka! IF there was a way to have modified this .IMG ready to burn file to remove region and still be ready to burn I'm all ears.
