I was wondering if there is a Software Tool that Forces a burner into automatically using the #DVD-ROM# Book type automatically for DVD+R media?

Or

Is a firmware modification usually needed?

Google "LG 4120B bitsetting" and you'll be amazed at what you can find :)

WOW!

Nephilim gave you the Google link.
You tried it and couldn't find any suitable software?

I used the link, and within 30 seconds I had found this:
http://club.cdfreaks.com/showthread.php?t=101279

The first post provides a link to another thread:
http://www.storageinfo.co.kr/EzMODse/viewtopic.php?p=131325#131325

The first post of that thread lists a download location.

Total time: less than 2 minutes!!!

Do you know how to use a search engine?

Well drchips, it seems your genius at google astounds me! But what you found is Korean Language websites and links to hacked unsupported firmware for the drive NOT what I was looking for.

AND I'd prefer you keep your childish snide remarks in your bedroom boyo!.

You asked about firmware, you got firmware..

It seems it is NOT a hacked firmware, read this thread (post by Kenshin):
http://club.cdfreaks.com/lite/t-100513

If you are looking for an "official, supported" solution then I suggest you get in touch with LG and have loads of money ready, as it seems they have no intention of releasing such a thing....

Let us perform a cursory examination of your posts/requirements..

You are looking for a tool for bitsetting on your drive.
You were offered a firmware that performs that function.
That was not good enough for you, as it is a "hacked, unsupported" firmware.
A cursory search of LG's website shows that LG does not support such.
Therefore, any facility for such a function MUST be unsupported.
But you WANT the official, supported function.

Basically, you want that which does not exist at this time, and the facility that is offered that will perform what you want is not good enough for you.

The spoilt brat stance does not seem to be working for you, now does it?

Your preference that I keep my remarks to myself does not really carry much weight, bearing in mind the above...

Childish!, nice one !LOL!

drchips - I'd suggest you look elsewhere because basically your not been helpful instead you like to quote and unquote and as you like to mention Perform with haste and scant attention to detail your searches and yet you still think your funny and frankly i have better things do to now.

I found some information that pointed me in the right diection and indeed LG does support indirectly bitsetting under an offical firmware A104.

Senior member indeed and what U gave is just (more of the same)
