I have Sonic MyDVD v.3.5 and a Philips DVDRW228 unit. When I try to transcode AVI files to MPEG-1 with this unit attached I get an error that it does not have the proper encoder for these files. However, if I swap it out with an HP DVD200j I can accomplish this with the same files. Anybody know of a fix for this? I CAN create a DVD with the Philips if I use TMPGEnc and transcode them that way but I shouldn't have to because Sonic can obviously handle AVI's. I have tried both companies and neither can tell me. Anybody got a guess?
