Hi, I know smoeone in this forum will be able to help [ you allways do.]

I can't get my snes emu to work on my ps2[its one year old]. I only DL'ed SNESSTATION the other day and I followed the step bystep guide exactly - but it doesn't work. I tryed my own few things on it but nothing works.

I have SwMagic 3.0 CD and also BREAKER PRO 1.1 CD. I can get most PS2-CDs to work regardless of size. I'm stumped.

Hey wats up yeah I can help you out man.

I used the cdbeta1 method with cdloaderV7_beta5.2 the newest build of cdloader.I extracted all of my files in this order:

System.CNF
SNES_EMU.001
SNES_EMU.002
SNES_EMU.003
This is where I put my roms folder label it "roms"

I built it with ps2cdgen I also clicked on edit for the system.cnf file and fixed the LBA to 12231 then created the .bin and .cue file.I then opened up Nero burning rom clicked on open when it displays the menu.Selected my .cue file and burned at 8X.My method of getting it to boot was this:

Swap Magic 3 CD
CdloaderV7_beta5.2,When this comes up keep region on default and Y-fix on,press custom boot, and always refresh the IOP image.
eject the tray and put back in Swap Magic CD
When it says there is a PS2 cd in open up fliptop or swipecard method and replace your disc.

This was the method I used for the SNES Station to work on my PS2 but I have a V7 so might be different not sure, but I do know it is different than a modded PS2. Another place you could look at stuff on getting this to work is here http://www.gamebase.ca

Peace L-Burna

Did you follow the instructions for making a disc for unmodded consoles? If you're going to use Swap Magic to boot SNES Station you need to use CDGenPS2 to make the disc image file. When doing so open the folder you have your SNES Station files in then drag the SYSTEM.CNF and SNES_EMU.ELF files in first, then ROMS into any folder you like. Right-click the SYSTEM.CNF file, select Edit, then check the Fix LBA box and enter the value 12231. Then click the IMG button to make the image. If that's all hard to understand, get a noswap modchip fitted into your system.

Have you tried using CDLoader to boot the disc. I have a v7 ps2 with a fliptop and SwapMagic and i need to use CDLoader to get it to boot. Also what program did you use to burn it?

Yeah Wagz your right man I have to use cdloader also to get it to work man.The method for swapmagic I use is like this:

Eject the tray insert Swap Magic
Using Fliptop method or swipe card method insert the cdloaderV7 for V7 consoles and up,or the cogswaploader for anything below version 7 (1-6)
Eject the tray and use the Swap Magic Cd at the bottom left corner wait for it to say PS2 CD and then press X
Now when the screen comes up saying EA Swap Method just use the Fliptop method or swipe card method.

This is the method I use for getting the Super Nintendo games to work on my PS2.It could be different for some people, but if the method you use is different from what I got post your method.

Peace L-Burna

hey, i just made a SNES-Station for my PS2, n i can get it to boot up, and it plays most games... except 2 of my favorites... Super Mario Kart, and Zelda..., when i hit X to load them, the sceren turns black and white and starts to skip...:(... i can still see the game, but its skipping up and down, and its impossible to play, but i can go back to the menue fine and pick a different game and it will load okay... i was just wondering if any1 else has encountered this, or maybe they are just bad ROMs?:( - sum1 help, thnx!

Yeah I encounter that every once in awhile also.It is probably just bad roms or maybe something different I couldn't really tell you man since I am encounter that same prob also.I think this is normal though man, because I am sure there are some other people that have that same problem.I aint really worried about it,because I probably get maybe 5 roms not to work out of 150 roms which aint bad.It could be a problem with the roms is what I am thinking, maybe they aren't playable at all.

thanks for all the replys.
I will try it although it sounds as if this is what I already done.

Yeah, I followed the UN-modded guide. AND i tryed CDloader-v7. But I DIDNT call the rom folder ROMS. I called it SNES. Maybe this is the problem.

I'll keep on trying.- KEEP THE SNES SPIRIT ALIVE.

hi again, i forgot.

My files in the SNES-STATION are different to yurs L-Burna. I got:1.SYSTEM speeddial file;
2.SNES_EMU.ELF
3.INSTALL speeddial file.

This must be the problem I think. Can anyone tell me a different site to try. Or I bet I haven't UNPACKed it yet or something.

Cheers for all the help. I better get it working soon or I'll go mental.

Windows associates .CNF file extensions as speed-dial files by default. Goto Tools then Folder Options in Windows and look until you find the list of options with the "Hide extensions of known file types" option and uncheck it. This way you can see the file extensions of all files.

The Mario Kart issue is related to the game utilitizing a DSP1 chip running in mode A that Nintendo included inside each cartridge of the game. This requires additional emulator overhead and will result in slower emulation performance.

Yeah I see where you are going with this one davedumb. The file you downloaded is different than the setup I used man.I downloaded the cdbeta version of the SNES compilation. The file you are using is the SNES V0.23 WIP.The way you want to back this up is like this using the ps2cdgen utility still. The compilation should be like this:

This is the site I got the compilation from
http://snes-station.gamebase.ca

SYSTEM.CNF (note:you have to change this to 12231 if you are using Swap Magic)
SNES_EMU.ELF
"ROMS" Folder here

If you are making a SNES compilation for a modded console this is the order you should use:

SYSTEM.CNF
INSTALL.CNF
SNES_EMU.ELF
"ROMS"Folder (make sure when you label your folder with all your SNES roms in it "roms" or "ROMS"

Another thing you can do is when you burn the compilation disc in the Volume or Label of the disc name it this instead of having it say NEW=SNES_STN .It is not really necessary, but I would do it anyways.

Alright hopes this fixes this way you setup the newest version of files.I hope this also works for you davedumb.I was using the a different setup which was a older build of files, but this method should also work.

Peace L-Burna

Oh another thing is that the System file you have that is called a speed dial file that is the right file.Once you put the file into ps2cdgen it will automatically call it system.cnf.I wouldn't worry about it just use the file you have the system speed dial file and change the LBA of it to 12231 and then create it(all the files in the .zip file you have are right man).

Well guys im also having the same prob and i tried everything you guys said and wasted almost 13 cd's now and still no work... 5 left...anyways do i refresh the TOC with a ps2 game then do slide card trick and when it refreshes it says load your program in now...or do i just load magic swap disc 3.2 then do slide card? because i tried both and the screen goes red soon as i click load program...and with just loading the magic swap disc i shows a pink line at the top in like 3 seconds...then when i refresh toc it takes like 2 mins before the pink line shows up on the red screen...i tried the following programs with it...

-SNES-STATION (NON-MODDED TUTORIAL)
-CD LOADER V7
-CD LOADER V7all
-CD LOADER BETA 5.3

PS2 = V 10 (50001)

...so i really don't know what to do here well if anyone has any ideas or the same problem please post!.

Sorry for the long post but i gtg
