I was wondering about how to listen to DVD Audio discs. I am thinking about making one to back up my entire CD collection. After I make the disc, what will it play on?

A DVD-Audio player!

Seriously though, you will not get your entire CD collection on a single disc.
DVD-Audio uses uncompressed PCM audio at 16/44.1 to 24/192 in stereo, and requires a DVD-A authoring application, plus a DVD-A player hooked up to an AV amp.

Or in software, Intervideo WinDVD 6 Platinum with the Add on pack will also play them too.

I suspect you are getting confused somewhere.
Best you will get onto DVD-A is 12 hours of 16/44.1 CD quality music. And that will take around $6,000 worth of software to author.

I think this will be of interest for frequent visitors, like
myself
concerning SACD/DVD-AUDIO players. There exists only a few quality players
that will play both of these formats and the best one that I found and
currently own is
the Pioneer DV-563A, which is a Progressive scan/DVD-AUDIO/SACD/HD-CD and
more.
It has played every format of DVD recordable that I have thrown at it
including DVD-R/RW,
DVD+R/RW, VCD, PhotoCD, and is only about $140.00. I use pioneer gear for
my business
and highly recommend this player to anyone looking for a high quality/low
cost dual format player.

(Note- I might also point out that in order to use the SACD/DVD-AUDIO
function, you must also
have a 5.1or better home stereo that has 5.1 analog inputs for this format.
SACD/DVD-AUDIO
will not playback through standard 2chanel audio or digital optical/coaxial
SPDIF lines.)

I have the Pioneer AVH-P7500DVD. http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/pna/product/detail/0,,2076_4023_1986436,00.html. It's a car stereo. The documation calms that it will play DVD-A's. From what I understand DVD-A's are audio only DVD's. I thought, man what a good idea. So I searched the internet for a program that will write DVD audios and found this program http://www.ulead.com/bn/runme.htm. Burned a DVD using the software but the Problem is after burning the DVD it doesn?t work in the player. What am I missing????

There is quite a bit of confusion going on in regards to DVD-A at this time. I myself am still learning more and more about this format as the new releases come out (see Nine Inch Nails, "The Downward Spiral" Dual Disc Re-Release) This Particular DVD-A has a high resolution Super-Bit audio side playable in DVD-A
players only with extra music videos in 5.1 and also has a CD side that is the orriginal release remastered to today standards from the 1994 orriginal version. You cannot creat a DVD-A w/o authoring software from a professional mastering studio using pro-tools with 5.1 stem placement. You can however creat a DVD with MP3/WMA/AAC..etc. that is playable in a home/car DVD-A player. Hope this helps clarify a few things.
