First, let me apologize if this is in the wrong forum. I have searched the archives, and haven't been able to find what I am looking to do.

I have a home dvd (vob file) that I would like to edit out certain parts. Ideally, I would like to edit a section of video (perhaps 20 seconds long), and then attach the 20 second clip to an email. I have downloaded a trial version of windvd 6, and I can do just that, however, when I send the email the video has sped up, and is a large file (3mb). The other problem is it appears in the email subject and loops the clip. Ideally, I would like the email recipient to open the clip on his computer and have the ability to rewind/ff, etc the clip.

I have also been able to achieve the correct outcome using a Ulead DVD Movie factory to edit the clip, then I must open the clip in windows movie maker to compress for emailing.

I am thinking there has got to be an easier way, in which I can be watching the dvd, push a record button to record the desired clip, save to my computer for future emailing, and go on with the rest of the video. Must I first convert the home dvd to a different file type other than vob?
