I just got a Panasonic SC-HT05 HTIB. When I listen to the radio or a CD/DVD via optical, the sound is fine. I also hooked up my tv and dish via (L/R) RCA cables. When I listen to these other 2 devices, the sound is substantially lower and I must crank the volume on the HTIB. My best guestimate is that is about half as loud for the same volume setting. Previously I had the dish plugged directly to the tv, and there was no difference in the loudness when switching from tv to dish. I checked the manual, it says nothing about the gain/preamp, etc.

I guess if I crank the volume, I will add distortion? And will I reduce the life of the amp always cranking it up substantially?

Any comments or suggestions would be appreciated.
