im so confused about this hd loader

hi maybe everybody in on here can give me a bit of info...on the world wide web...i found a cracked version of hd loader, which i burn with alcohol and nero..neither work. supposedly this is the only version out that works. next i found the memory card exploit which seemed interesting. but then they start talking about swap magic and flip top...blah blah..i dont have that. i didnt think i needed that. well anyways my ps2 is unmodded...and i used memorex cdr to burn the loader. i know i dont have the net adapter yet..nor do i have a hd..but on another thread on afterdawn i heard that i should load up and just give an error of no hd found. but i get the playstation error that it needs a disc ps1 or ps2. please any information for somebody that has a working crack let me know maybe you could direct me to a known working version. i thank anybody in advance for there help. thank you. oh yeah one last thing the crack that i found is by ps2ownz or something like that. again thank you.

The one that you downloaded from ps2ownz, you need a modchip or a fliptop and swap magic to be able to read the disc. Unmodded ps2 won't be able to read it. Other than that, you also need an HDD install with the net adapter. Without it, it won't work at all.

hey thanks...but i read that you wouldnt need a modchip or anything. if i used the hdloader...what will i need..i dont want a modchip. anymore info feel free keep sending it my way..haha

The only way for a ps2 to read disks are either with a retail pressed disk or with some sort of mod installed and then they can read cd-r and dvd-r media.

HDloader is made on a pressed disk which is why it works without a mod the cracked version floating around is for people with modded ps2's.
