can't read disc....ftp files?

Xbox v1.0 - Thompsom drive
Xenium Ice OS2.0 modchip

the xbox drive can't recognize the Ritek GO-4 dvd-r disk that i'm using. i've also tried different CD-RW discs. so far i've installed the chip, flashed the original bios(retail bios), and backed up the EEFPROM. all successfully.
now since my xbox doesn't want to read the discs, can i just ftp the .iso file onto the xbox? will the file be too large? and if i can, which folder should i ftp the file too? any help is very much appreciated. thanks.
