Hi i have a 40 GB Maxtor HDD and i could get the utility didk from a friend. Can i use that disk to install what ever it needs so i could download socom 2 content? IS there any way to make this work?

as far as i know, NO, this will not work

the official ps2 hdd has some kind of built in soft/firmware that make sit impossible for the ps2 to recognise a standard hdd

the only way the hdd is recognised is by hdloader, and this way you will not be able to get "content"

you could always give it a go though i guess
