HD Loader - Freezeup

I just purchased HD Loader from consolsourse.com.
I have a Maxtor 80 GB harddrive. I installed my new NHL 2005 game or so I thought. When I attempted to load it to play, the "NHL 2005" screen shows up but then it freezes. Is this common or did I do something wrong or do I not have the right equipment/software? Please help!!

When at the screen where you choose your games hit select over NHL 2005 and enable mode 3. I think that is what you must do.
