problems converting Xvid AVI's audio to WAV

hello,

I am having a huge amount of trouble converting an Xvid
AVI to DVD video. TMPGEnc Plus converts the video fine,
but doesn't like the audio.

I have tried to convert the audio seperately to WAV using
"River Past Audio Converter", and "Audio/Video to WAV
Converter", but with no luck. Also tried VirutalDub, but
when I tried to play the WAV in MediaPlayer it came up
with "This pin cannot use the supplied media type"
whatever that means?!

However, when I re-encode the AVI with Dr. DivX, the
audio comes out fine, and can be used in TMPGEnc
Plus...but I don't want to have to re-encode the entire
thing just for the audio (coz there are 31 more AVI files
of the same type still to be done!).

Any other programs do this? the audio codec used is:

(copied from AVIcodec Info)
57Mb, 192kbs, 48000 Hz, 2 Ch., 0x2000 = AC3 DVM
