I have a v6 console and tried to install a Magic V modchip. On the last wire SCEX, I accidently scraped off one of the resistors...

Here is a pic: http://www.modchip.ca/install/ps2/magic3/magicv56.php

The little brown resistor underneath the SCEX solder point fell off...my bro is an engineer and said its a resistor. He has an OHM meter so we measured it and it came up as an 800 ohm resistor. Went to Radio Shack and bought some and I managed to solder a wire to each of connection points on the mainboard and solder a resistor to it.

The PS2 boots fine and finds the discs but wont play them. It going into the browser mode and shows playstion 2 disc but everytime I hit play, it just go black and kicks back to the same screen...this happens on both real and burnt games.

The audio is another problem, it crackles and has interference behind it...a constant low humming loop...like "woom woom woom" over and over again...it sounds like distortion...

So I guess me question is, is anyone a electronic engineer with advanced knowledge of PS2 board scematics that knows if I can potentially fix my console. Its going to cost me $400 cnd to get a new one with a modchip already in it...I dont have that kind of money....already spent $80 on the chip only to kill me PS2...ugh...

So in short terms, am I screwed or is there any kind of hope...I am not afraid of time consuming work to get this going...I just dont have money to get a new one...

Any advice is extremely appreciated...
