I want to edit my home movies that I have recorded with my stand alone DVD reorder. I have adobe premier 6.5 to edit but it will only import AVI or MOV files. Can anyone help. Thanks.

Use DVD2AVI. It's free and downloadable here. You input your vobs and it outputs an avi (takes awhile).

I used DVD2AVI to convert a VOB file. It makes 2 files, one is a AVI the other is a wav file. Is there any way that DVD2AVI can make one file with both the video and audio on the same AVI file?

Nope. It demuxes the audio from the video so you can re-encode.

If you are using premiere 6.5, I thought you can get a Main Concept Plugin, which will encode you edited AVI file to mpeg2.

All you have to do then is use an authoring program (DVD Factory, DVD Workshop to name but a few)
