Home Brew Audio CD's Won't Play on a Sony DVP-S530D

As the subject indicates, I'm having problems burning audio CD's that will play on my Sony CD/DVD player.

I've used Nero 6.0, Soundstream 2.3 (which comes with Roxio Easy CD Creator 5.3) I've used Roxio as well, and I've also tried MusicMatch in the past. I should also mention that with Roxio, I've used the "Powerec" option that increases the intensity of the laser. Didn't help.

I've used Memorex Music CD-R's as well as TDK Data CD-R's. I've burned at speeds as low as 8x, and *I think* 4x.

The CD's will play in other computers, in my trucks stock CD player, and on portable CD players. Everywhere but on my home CD system.

Customer support at Sony says this player will not play home made CD's, only commercial ones. I'm sure there's a way to burn them so it will play home made CD's.

Any ideas'? Maybe it has something to do with there being no "dead space" left on a commercial CD?
