optorite dd1205 no longer reading DVD

I just got this Optorite dd1205 dvd burner the other day and it was working fine. But today i went to try to burn a dvd and it wouldn't even recognize the dvd+rw. I didnt change any settings or anything actually i had just burnt another dvd. i've tried different brands of media and everything. any suggestions?

First thing I would try is in device manager, remove the burner drive, reboot and let Windows reinstall the drive properly. This sometimes straightens out problems.
