I use DVD Decryptor and DVD Skrink to make backups of my moives. I have an 8 speed Plextor drive with latest firmware, a 1.4ghz processor, 512mb ram. I use Memorex 8 speed media to do my backups. Everything goes fine with no errors when I do my backups. The issue is when I play the movies every one of them skips a few times about 20 to 40 minutes into it the movie. Anyone have an idea or is it just my media?

At this time Memorex media is on the do not use list. It is made by a company that produces poor quality media. Switch to something like Ritek or Verbatim grade A media. You could also try dropping your burn speed. Good luck.

 ... You might want to check your disc before you write to it, and check the copy when you're done writing it, with a program like DVD InfoPro ... That way you'll be able to tell if it's a media, writing or reading problem ...
