Looking for external DVD+/-R for Mac

I was originally looking for a DVD Recorder that would also function as a regular external DVD R/W drive, but didn't find any that seemed to fit that bill. If they had a firewire port at all, they all seemed to only work with a digital camera.

What I need is a decent DVD R/W drive I can connect to a Mac for burning w/ iMovie. If the drive can do regular playback as well for exporting to s-vhs later, that would be a bonus.

This deck would be used at a public access cable station for iMovie project back-up, and a dupe source (when making dozens of copies of a particular program). If it would be cheaper to buy a cheap playback device instead of having this feature built-in, that would be fine.
