Yes, If the game you want to backup is a CDROM then use Alcohol 120% and select copy wizard...thats all you have to do =)
Any questions ElenorR?

Now that I know I can do this...I have a whole list of all games that are CD-based, and I'm wondering if you've had any problems? I have Contra, Ninja Assault, and Time Crisis 1 & 2 so far.
These load VERY well with CD Loader. This will work for all cd based? let me know.
Thanks for the help!

lol Joka2012, you need a mod or swap magic to play backups. You cant just bung in the game and expect it to work..=)

Alcohol 120% will backup almost ALL Ps2 cd based games.
But to boot them you NEED the swap magic disks. If however you have a MoDcHiP installed you wont need to use cdloader or swap magic to play backups =)

no, use the Alcohol copy wizard to rip the game cd to the laptop harddrive, it will create an image file.
put a blank cd-r in the cd-rw drive and alcohol will burn the game image. thats all you have to do.

BIGMAC14, yes use Alcohol 120%. Put disc in, it'll create an image file, then when it says to put in your blank put it in! It automatically copies it to the cd-r!
This will work for all blue-bottom PS2 Games. These are ones made up to possibly 2002-you'll notice the bottom- ICO is one, Time Splittiers, and Ninja assualt are a few examples. Remember, ps2s that have ablue bottom instead of silver.
Hope this helps for all of you new ones out there. Have fun!

Quote: So its not going to work with the more new ps2 games
All newer Ps2 games are on DVD-ROM discs.
San Andreas is a DVD-ROM game.
Therefore if you want to back it up using the above method simply use a "DVD-R" instead of a "CD-R". You will also need a DVD Burner.
Still lost bigmac?

Hi every one I wonder if any one can help. I've just bought these swap disks and the pull card in the hopes that I can stop my kids for scratching their original disks. I've had a go with a dvd disk no problem but when I put the cd swap disk in it dosen't boot up and ask me to "insert disk" is there anything I could be doing wrong?
Thanks in advance!

To tell if the game is DVD or CD based, look at the back of the darn case. Also, when you put the game in your drive, look at the size. Pretty easy with these hints.

Another way to tell if its CD or DVD, it says it on the DISC, CD ROM or DVD ROM. Very easy way.

hey guys,
i've dled a few smaller sized games for ps2 like mvc2 (only about 180mb's) anyway i've used Alcohol 120 to burn the cue image. yet everthing seems to work well until i after i try loading the game with my flip top swap magic disk i get the red screen once i try loadin mvc2 on cd-r. i have no idea wat i'm doin wrong! i have tons of dvd's backe up games like final fantasy x and mk deception among others and they work great but when i try workin a cd-r no such luck. maybe someone can help me trouble shoot i'd greatly appreciate it.
have version 9 ps2 with flip top swap discs dvd/and cdr.
