Swap Magic with new PS2

Has anyone yet tried the Swap Magic discs (or similar) with the new flip top ps2 (v11)? Do they perhaps work on their own because of the flip design, or maybe, not at all? (which would be a shame)

i read in another forum that the swap magic does work with the new ps2, but you have to open the unit because sony put in an internal switch that lets the ps2 know if the tray is open (so i guess that means the slide tool won't work). you have to disable this switch and then it works fine, but you have have swap magic CD v3.2. The dvd 2.0 works fine they said but i have tried none of this myself

Well foo, that kind of defeats the purpose if you have to open the machine. Perhaps another creative solution can be found.
