Need help with an error message from shrink

I followed the guide written by scubapete which was great help for getting my burner ready to burn Dvd's but i run into a problem. I have the DVD shrinked in my DVD burner then after its done it automatically opens DVD decrypter and i open my dvd burner then put the blank CD in there. Im using Memorex DVD-R 4X cd's. Once i put the blank dvd in it start to get ready to burn then i get this error message:

I/O Error!

Scsistatus: 0x02
Interpretation: Check Condition

CDB: 2A 00 00 00 00 20 00 00 20 00
Interpretation: Write (10) - Sectors: 32 - 63

Sense Area: 70 00 03 00 00 00 00 0A 00 00 00 00 73 03 00 00 00 00

Interpretation: Power Calibration Area Error




ok now, i wasent quite sure how to get the burner up and running...so i have no clue what so ever to what that error message means lol. The only thing i can think of is that its the Blank DVD's?

BTW i also have Nero and got the same kind of error when it begain to burn.

Please HELP!

PS I have been able to burn music CD's on this burner so...what the problem is?? :(

It may be a media problem. What did Pete say about media? Power Cal problems occur when your burner cannot set the laser power correctly. Possible causes are Bad Media, dirty laser, weak power supply, your burner may be going bad.

I just bought the burner brand new...so if somethings wrong with it i can just return it...

where would i go to update my firmware?

Ok i upgraded the firmware from optorite homepage. Same error message. Im gonna go out and buy some new blank dvd's today...anyone else have a reason im getting this error message?

I got new blank DVD's today and i still get the same eror message..and umm im pressing the open button for the dvd tray and no tray is popping out...i think this burning is broke. any other suggestions?

If you are running Win XP O/S then after a restart your PC should see your 2 drives again...

You shouldn't have any problem with official firmware from Optorite homepage [if choosing the right f/w for your specific drive].
