swap magic 3 cd not working....

i bought a no solder mod chip and the swap magic 3 bundle.

i installed correctly the modchip, and after reading the directions on how to load the boot disk....

it says that it is supposed to come to a screen that says: Insert Disk... but on mine, the CD boot disk when it loads comes to a screen where it says: Load Program, Video Mode: Normal.... and its an interactive screen, where u can change video mode, also on bottom it says normal boot = X special = Square

On the DVD boot disk however... it comes to the correct screen : Insert disk.

so i am wondering if i got ripped off (by modchipstore.com)

my PS2 is V4, and on the CD of the swap magic says USA 3.2 and DVD says USA 2.0.

the mod chip installed was supposed to be for V4.. since i specified on the website that it was V4.

can anyone help me???

i burnt a game (worl tour soccer) which was a DVD-rip (in bin cue style) i used nero to burn and burned the cue image, at 2X onto a MAxxell media.

plz anyone's help would be appreciated.

the cd swap magic screen is correct its just you have a newer version... but unfortunately the dvdrip you have burned probably will not work as the swap magic cd only copes with cd's of up to 630mb as no ps2 cd based game is bigger than that because of the bad sector protection system or something along those lines... the only way to get dvdrips working with swap magic is to use a cd based TOC refresh, i believe only "breaker pro" has a high enough TOC to get dvdrips working (the problem is that a TOC refresh needs a pressed original disc).

tip use Alcohol for burning as Nero can give problems on some versions

thx. but... is there any way... to patch or convert my bin cue file that is DVDRIP... and make it become NOT dvd rip... meaning... less then 650mb????

also.... if i BURN a DVD-R from this DVDRIP bin cue... will that solve the problem??? (given i insert the DVD swapt disk instead)

answers for your questions

1.. not sure ,maybe their is a way on certain titles by completely cutting the videos

thx man. that helped a bit.. i will buy a dvd burner.

when i burn the dvd backup copy.... does it matter if i burn 4x... or 2x.. which one u recommend?

i know that cd=r should be less then 8x... but whta about DVD - R ?

All I have to say is Breaker Pro V1.1,it enables support of Dvd-rips.I think there is no need to buy a dvd burner,it is just the way you need to boot it.When you use swap magic V3 cd eject the tray,put in breaker pro.It will refresh the TOC and say insert your program disc.Just insert your Dvd-rip and you should be good to go.You might want to look into getting a safer method of booting games also instead of the no solder mod,just an oppinion.
