Can you be a bit more specific?
Do you mean repairing damaged items etc?

Email me if I don`t reply to a previously answered post. I`m probably fishing :)

Years ago on the Amiga I had did some component level work but never on the PC. Mostly it was for putting in dual kickstart ROMs so you could run AmigaDOS 1.3 and 2.0 but it was pretty low level, even to the point of having to cut traces.

Born with a soldering iron in my hand :^)
Actually my dad used to do Tiffany cut-glass stuff and I remember trying to solder my bicycle seat back on again after it broke off.
It made a hell of a mess and worked not at all, and I was in deep.
Anyway I tech, I hold a lot of software certifications but at heart I'm a hardware guy. I know how to wield a MultiMeter and have studied electronics and physics, and I have tools incl. tiny solder etc.
But I have a guy I go to if I need any 'real' electronics technician stuff done, LoL :^)
Auslander didn't you blow something up good once? I'm trying to remember...
Hi Xian, good to see another oldtimer who is still a Senior. I see your posts in Hardware now & then and they are always worth $$.
ddp, are you more like me or, do you tech ICs and components and microsolder yourself?
edit: there ya go, I just missed getting my own answers!

Yeah, my guy does those for me - but he wants $50 bucks! Beautiful metal (AMP) connectors, but still...
Amazing how monitors have price-dropped 'over the years' eh? Used to be, it was worth fixing that 17" monitor... I remember paying $699 now they're like $150 bucks.
Refresh my memory about Auslander ;^) I'll find those old threads, don't force me to search, LoL
Hey does Pulsar ever come in here?
