Ok I have a version 9-10 PS2 (not sure which but they are the same for the most part) I have had no problem booting any DVD-R games on my Ritek G04s. My problem is with CD based games for instance my backup of Gauntlet Dark Legacy. The swap magic 3.2 disc takes a couple good tries to get the sucker up and running, but when it does and i finally get that game swapped and loaded it only shows the first menu. Then I get a black frozen screen, end of story. All my other games refuse to boot even that far, black screen instantly or it freezes at the red screen, or a blue red flashing border. I have heard of changing the games to DVDs, which seems like too much trouble for backups. Anyone had any luck booting CDLoader on a Version 9 or 10? If you have please let me know, cause I have never heard of it working on a V9 or 10 yet. For V7s that seems to be the golden key. Please help.

Ok... with some work and burning I got my backup of Heros of Might and Magic to start via SwapMagic 3.2 on my V9. SwapMagic 3.2 just needs a few times to get started once in awhile. I had it boot like 5 times in a row and just now it wouldnt start for like 4 tries. Its really touchy. Point being I still have games that seem to want CDLoader and I can seem to get it to work on my V9. Still havent found anyone that could make it work either. Here are things I have tried

Booting SM DVD using DVD Loader, Swapping to SM CD, (freezes when loading into CD loader).

Booting SM CD, swapping to Gameshark Version 2, (most people dont think of this) gameshark loads, but hangs before the menu. (Thats right, even with swap magic gameshark wont boot.

Booting SM CD with several burns of CDLoader using different discs and different burn processes. All at 1 speed on Pioneer A06.

There almost seems to be no way to boot CDLoader or get SMCD to boot after a successful DVDLoader option.

Please add anything you know/find

Ludi.

Add Quake 3 arena to the working CD-R on V9 with SM 3.2 list. Still cant figure out Gauntlet Dark Legacy. Maybe Ill just buy myself backup copies hehe. That is, if its just the one disc.

use the cogswap mc exploit to get round the dodgy booting of Swap Magic Cd .. http://homepage.ntlworld.com/zxspeky/exploit%20instructions.doc ..a great guide ,follow instructions exactly ,better still i think there are ready made cogswap/SwapCd exploits on his site ,just make sure you have one of the trigger discs in the id list ..goto to his site.. http://homepage.ntlworld.com/zxspeky/index.htm ..it explains all

note make sure you have a default configsys file on your memory card before applying ,if you mess up you will need to delete the configsys and generate a new default one before retrying

I had the same problem with the SMcd ,really annoying

as for gauntlet legends ,is it definately a cd game and not a dvdrip ?
