Is it possible to remove a monitor from a laptop without damaging the laptop?

are you talking about the lcd screen of the laptop or are you talking about the external monitor. external monitors i've done that on both laptops & desktops when powered

Laptops have different designs for lcd placement. This is a general tutorial and should be helpfull.
