I bought the swap magic disk set that comes with the dvd and cd version plus the slide card, when i do all the steps and press x the screen freezes up and a red border comes up, i was wondering what im doing wrong, am i using the wrong kind of blank disks, DVD+R is what im using, or i also heard some games need a patch if thats the problem where do i get them, and how do i use them?? the game is MVP baseball 2004 if that helps

The red border means that you have a bad burn. First you don't need a patch for MVP baseball 2004 so it's either your dvd media or the software you're using to burn the discs. What version ps2 do you have? If your ps2 is earlier than v7 it probably doesn's support dvd+R, and even if it's and newer version than v7 it might not play dvd+R. I'd suggest trying out DVD-R's.

My ps2 is an scph-3001, version 5/6 so i'll just try out the DVD-R see if thats the problem
