I just bought a Maxtor 80gig hd for my unmodded ps2, and I'm at odds regarding what software to purchase. I bought it with the intention of just getting HDAdvance, but I'd also like to install some stuff like the DMS HDD Explorer.

Would I be able to run the install disk for HDD Explorer with HDAdvance? And if I could, would I be able to use HDD Explorer without the DMS modchip?

Ideally I want to put all my games on the hdd, along with a Genesis and NES emulator.
