I would have to agree with devilhunt for the cd based games, but I use Nero and RecordNow for Dvd based games. They seem to burn better for me.

I stick with DVD Decrypter for dvd-rom backups and Burnatonce for cd-rom backups. Both are free and they do the job.

I tested out dvddecrypter for cdloader and dvdloader and it can't burn the beta releases of them.It seems that the program is good at making images, but I wouldn't say it is the best at burning. It still has flaws in it as well as any other program, but the difference with this program is that it is updated every so often. If a flaw is caught in Nero or any other program that is not free they pick it up and fix it right away,so it is always being looked at.

so to sum it up, when i burn a dvd ps2 game, i put it on to my PC, then put the dvd blank in and burn the files onto it?

Also, when the files are put onto the PC, is it just one file, 2 files, a folder or what?

Here's how to backup your games.

Use DVD Decrypter (which is free) to rip the PS2 game onto your computer as an ISO. Then use a burning program like Alcohol 120% to burn the ISO. This works for me everytime.

is Nero a good all-around burner. what i mean is does it copy and burn iso's pretty good or would you just recommend it for either copying/burning? P.S. I would use DVD Decrypter but it wont see my cd drive because it is cd-rw and not dvd-rw.

p.i.a,

You can burn games from other regions using DVD Decrypter and Alcohol 120%.

You said you live in Europe and you want to play PAL releases. European releases are PAL. Releases from the U.S. and Japan are NTSC.

ibryant09,

What I prefer to do is make the iso image with DVD Decrypter and burn with other applications. I usually burn with Clone DVD 2, Nero, or Alcohol 120%.

If you are copying cd's (not dvd's), Burnatonce, Nero or Alcohol 120% will do the job for you.

krzleb,

Only a handful of games that come out today are cd-rom. These games are blue on the bottom side of the disc.

Most of the games will be clear on the bottom, these are dvd-rom games.

p.i.a,

If you have an NTSC game and you want to play it on your PAL console, here's what you do:

1)Make an ISO file of the game using Alcohol 120%'s image making wizard
2)Patch the iso using this program:
http://www.geocities.com/jayteemaster2003/ps2_ntsc2pal_yfix.zip
3)Burn the ISO file using Alcohol 120%.
