most games are on dvds, so you have to burn to dvd. But before you can play copied games, you need a modchip or swap magic and a fliptop/slide card.

yeah, you burn to cd. You need some mod to play burnt games. modchips are $5-60, with $60 installation. Swap magic and a fliptop is $40.

Factory ps2's have a feature that checks to see if the game is a pressed disc, or a copied disc. A modchip bypasses this process, allowing you to boot copies.

You can buy consoles that have modchips installed, commonly referred to as a Pre-Modified Console or Pre-Mod for short.

I have purchased a pre-mod from xmodd and I recommend their service. If I were you, this is what I would purchase. It's version 10 PS2 pre-modified with the dms plus modchip.
