I have a PS1, and I usually back up most of my games. I have a mod chip, and I noticed that sometimes the games won't work because of the mod chip. I'm thinking about getting a PS2, and I'm wondering if all PS2 games will work if there's a mod chip in my PS2.

I would imagine but the easiest way, is to use Nero express to backup your games then buy swap magic boot disk to play your backups if the mod chip does not work. I use it and have know problem at all!

I mean that when I try to play the game it says that there's a mod chip in the console and the game won't play.

Some ps1 games have an antimod protection, as far as i know of, ps2 games don't have that protection.

There are gameshark codes that disable the modchip for certain ps0ne games (ie: Dino Crisis, Strider 2).

they sure do... but there are patches available. however, some chips (many of the high end newer ones) dont require the patching... it depends on your chip. judging by your username, youre a hockey fan... i had to patch NHL.

I'm not really sure, I only have a PSX and I had someone else install the chip for me.

it's a bit dated, but still has relevant information. i know from experience that magic V chips work... but somepeople on these forums dont seem to like them (apparently they suck).
