I have recently bought some pc parts in order to built a complete system. After putting all items together (reset the bios) and press the power on switch.Although all the items seemed to work fine (fans cpu etc) nothing came up on the screen...I tested the cpu, memory, and graphics card on the system i am using now (having MB: ASUS P4P800) and everything work fine.
The system has:
P4@3GHz, ASUS P4P800 E-Deluxe, 256MB ABIT Radeon 9600XT, 1GB PC3200 Memory Module, HDD:160GB Maxtor ,Plextor DVD-RW
Can anyone please tell me what is wrong?HELP

How did you reset the BIOS? If you just took the battery out, that sometimes is not enough.
I had the same problem with my P4C800E-Deluxe mobo. I checked all the cables, cards, etc., and they were all seated properly. I took out the battery, and then I "shorted" out the CMOS by moving the jumper to the 2nd set of pins, for about 10 seconds. I then moved the jumper back to the default location, put the battery back in, and my computer booted up.
Your owner's manual shows the location of the CMOS jumper. If you go to the first page of Jumpers, it will be listed as Clear RTC RAM (CLRTC), or something to that affect.
I just looked at your manual on the Asus site. It is on page 2-20.
Also, make sure that your BIOS is updated to the 1004. You can get it here:
http://www.asus.com/support/download/item.aspx?ModelName=P4P800-E%20Deluxe

disconnect all drives & cards(?) except video card from motherboard with power disconnected not turned off as some boards still have poweron even turned off. clear the cmos with jumper( check manual), reconnect power & turn system on see what happens. post result. also do you have p4 powersupply installed with all the required connectors attached, as some boards want 2 power connections not just the atx power connector

check that cmos jumper is in normal not clear according to manual when powering system as in clear mode system won't post, try a pci video card to see if post, take motherboard out of case, isolate from case metal so you can still use power supply without taking it out of case 2 & try system out, possible grounding problem, post result

Quote: (reset the bios)
1. Why did you reset the BIOS?
2. With ASUS boards, either (a) you need to reset that jumper thingy or depending on the mobo (b) you dont have to reset anything, turn it off for a bit and the next bootup it will reset itself
Quote: How can I flash the BIOS if I can't see anything on the screen?
Is the system passing POST? Is there sufficent power?
Quote: same as before...Nothing is coming up on the screen
Remove the video card and reinstall it

AGP4X/AGP8X wont affect the ability to post. :)

What are the specs on the old and new memory
