I am trying to extract Man.On.Fire.DVDRiP.XViD-DvP and find that the final file on both CD1 and CD2 if failing due to errors. I get the following messages:

C:\ProgramFiles\mIRC\download\Man.On.Fire.DVDRiP.XViD-DvP.CD1.rar: Unexpected end of archive

CRC failed in Man.On.Fire.DVDRiP.XViD-DvP.CD1\dvp-manonfire.cd1.r41. The file is corrupt
!
C:\ProgramFiles\mIRC\download\Man.On.Fire.DVDRiP.XViD-DvP.CD2.rar: Unexpected end of archive

CRC failed in Man.On.Fire.DVDRiP.XViD-DvP.CD2\dvp-manonfire.cd2.r40. The file is corrupt

Also the final 15 files in each CD folder are described as type "File r30, File r31 etc) while the previous files are type "WinRAR archive"

Does anyone know what the problem is here? I find it hard to believe that both CD's are corrupt.

Cheers

Sounds like you need to get a par2 file to reconstruct the missing data. Simply download the par2 file for the movie (if there is no par2 file you are fuc*ed) and load it into a program called quick par. It will recover the file for you and you will be able to extract it from there.

When you get to the 30th file, winrar usually calls the files r30 r31 etc. This is normal dont worry.

dabossman: What alin said is essentially correct. To elaborate further, you can try using repair in winrar to try to repair the two files that are corrupt in the crc checker. You must highlight the individual file, not open the archive, in order to repair it. It may or may not be able to repair it depending on how many errors it finds. You can take the file it makes and rename it to replace the corrupt file and try it again.

thats mIRC - not newsgroups, he doesn't need PAR2

dabossman - just go back to the channel and start the download again, it will fill the gaps, you didn't finish the download
