I have 2 games in my collection that are CD based games. The first is Frequency and the 2nd is The Thing. I'm trying to make a copy of Frequency by using Alchohol 120%.

I found a guide somewhere that said this:
1)Start Alchohol 120%
2)Select Copy Wizard
3)Select your Reader & Read Speed
4)Select or Deselect "Copy currenty disc on the fly"
5)For Data type select which colsole ps1 or ps2, press next
6)Select your image location and name for it, press next
7)Select your writer, write speed and anything else you feel you might need
8)Make sure the data type selected is the same you chose above.
9)Press start to begin.

Now the problem I have with this guide to burning a copy od a cd based ps2 game that I do own is that there is no option in alchohol120% that says "on the fly". Also, I think whoever wrote this guide mixed a few of the steps up with eachother.

I burned the disk, everything went fine and when I went to use the swap disk's to play it the game did goto a loading screen then a black screen came up and froze on me. Could it be that I should have burned the game at the lowest possible speed instead of 8x or 12x?

Can anyone add to this and possibly correct that guide I found earlier that I included with this post. Sorry to make this so long but I want to get this process down so that I won't have to ask too many more questions of everyone.

I downloaded megaman anv collection and never got it to work but then I made a copy of a copy using the instructions exactly as they are shown and my copy did in fact work. I left the read speed at maximum and turned the write speed down to 4x. It works just as well as the copy does.

I attempted to do this with frequency(i really do have this game) and this time I left the speed at 4x when writing. It still won't play as it should. The game is in fact on a cd but the last 2 copies I made both did the same thing. By the way the back of the disk is a purple/blue so that may have something to do with it.

Or maybe frequency just can't be copied, i'm aware that there is a list somewhere that says what games swapmagic can't play unless another downloadable file is included with it and burned onto the same disk that the game data is.

Bottom line is i'm not going to waste anymore disks for frequency, it obviously won't work unless I figure this problem out.

The only other cd based game that I have is "The Thing" so I may give that a shot.

MegaMan never worked. It had to have been a bad download/file. Right now i'm working on getting Gradius V and will probably try to make an exact copy of one of my dvd games.

Right now I have 2 pc's, 1 upstairs that I use all of the time that has a cd burner and the one downstairs has a 200gb HD and a multilayer dvd/cd burner.

A Blockbuster just opened up near my house and when you sign up for a card you get some coupons for free rentals so if I burn a copy of one of my dvd games successfully then it's off to BB I go.
