My friend was telling me how his friend was playing SNES games/roms on his PS2. Is there any truth to this?

Yeah that would be sweet if we could get some N64 games to work on the PS2. Oh well.

Hahaha lol it has already been done check off http://www.gamebase.ca in the SNES station section.You can compile your own super nintendo discs,on cd-r or dvd-r either way.If you are using modchip you shouldn't have a problem compiling them,and the swap magic people can even make them so it is possible to make your own discs.

I think there is a N64 emulator for the PS2 also,but not very sure.I think it is called PS2DreamSpec not sure if that is relevant to the N64 roms,but I am sure there is one.If you need any help on booting roms the best site to check would be like I said http://www.gamebase.ca .Hope this helps you out,and leads you in the right direction.

I've been researching eumlators and mod chips today for my PS2...but still need some more info. I have a couple questions...
Do you need a mod chip to use emulators and play ROMS?
How do you get emulators and ROMS? Internet? Buy it?
I'll look around this site, but if anyone can point me in the right direction that would be awesome. Thanks.

A modchip can be used to make compiled emu discs.It is not the only method though.I use the swap magic technique at the moment,but am pretty sure the harddrive can also use this method.The emulators you can find off http://www.gamebase.ca for PS2 and are free,but the roms you must own.You will have to buy them or either find them I can't give you alot of detail about the roms such as links or what not since that would be illegal.

Thanks for the info...I'll probably go the mod chip route for the PS2, but I have another question that I'm not too sure the answer of...
Are there emulators out for all systems (for the PS2)?...I see mainly SNES, but I'm wondering about Genesis, NES, Master System.

Yeah they have alot more emulators rather than just SNES such as PGEN and alot more.

So what do you do with the emulators after you download them? Do you burn them to a CD/DVD and then store it on a memory card on your PS2?

Sorry for the late reply,but yeah you store the emulator on memory card(when you download the programs they normally contain a .elf file).Then you compile a memory card exploit then plug in a ps1 game and it auto boots to the exploit.After reaching the exploit memu go to where it says SNES_EMU.ELF or whatever the .elf name is that is stored on the exploit and press the X button.It will launch directly to the program and you can then use already compiled discs with roms on it to play as many as you like.The memory card exploit is not really need,but it helps as for dvd compiling.If you want you can compile the Snes station on to a cd-r disc and boot it like that or with any other emulator for the PS2 and it should work also.If you check off the main sites to the emulators they will give you a guide on how to burn them which gives you both ways of burning also for modchip and swap users.
