I have dish network and want to make copies of the movies from the movie channels. Will they be digital to play back from my surround sound system also? What is a good dvd recorder around $400.

... The only thing that a set top recorder will do is produce DVDs that can be played on your computer ... If you want to burn downloaded movies, etc, you need a DVD writer for your computer ...

... It is relatively simple to burn downloaded movies to a DVD with a computer burner ... If piracy is involved, use caution ... And unfortunately, help will have to be sought elsewhere ... Piracy and information supporting piracy will be cause for banishment from this site ...

Also found out Lite on is coming out with a new recorder, sometime in the near future. Model 5054 with a 160gb hard drive. Think I'll wait till it comes out.
