quick question - how do you go about limiting the cd-read speed?

the cdspeed.exe from cdspeed2000.com doesn't appear to help.

- ripping cd using easy cd-da extractor 7.5 with a pioneer dvr107D, and it rips at about 20x - which is too fast!

any thoughts would be most welcome

cheers

Why is ripping at 20x too fast tee99? Are you having problems playing the files ripped using the drive?

- basically, get the occasional skipping part way through a track...

however, whatever read spead is set within easy cd-da extractor, it doesn't make any difference!

cheers

It sounds like a differnt type of problem. Speed doesn't make a difference unless your PC is unstable.

My 3 favorite CD rippers (in order of favor):

1) dBPowerAMP (dMC) (recommended for "Audiophiles")

2) Audio Grabber 1.83 (for everyone)

3) CDex (for newbies)

-----------------------------------------------------

Tips

I. When ripping (or burnning or playing) a CD you should never be multi-tasking!

II. If a PC has more than one optical drive that are on the same IDE cable (a Master and Slave setup), never use them at the same time while either is ripping (or burning or playing).

Good luck,

cheers mate

i have dabbled with dbpoweramp, which is cool, and also exact audio copy.

i believe its mainly the correct codecs that are important, but it just seems odd that i cannot control the cd speed...

must stop running 15 different applications at the same time though (!)

anyway, cheers for your assistance
