I have an MP3/cdplayer and when I try and play cd's I create some songs will only play from anywhere between 10-40 seconds and then just freeze. I have tried everything from using diffent burning programs (nero, easy cd creator, matchmusic), differnt cd-r's (imation and digital research) and differnt MP3 players. It's the some problem in all of the cases. The only thing that is left is the ID3v1 and v2 tags. I recently got winamp3 and decided to change all of the tags to both v1 and v2, the players dont read v2, could this be causing my problem?

I had problems reading MP3s when I used my old CD-Burner. I think it was a JVC burner.

I got my Plextor CD-writer and now all CDs work great, regardless of where I try to play them.

Perhaps your burner is the problem?

What is your player?
Does it support all bitrates?

No, 44.1 is the sampling rate. Bitrate is something like 128, 192, 256kbps.

As far as I know, the Rio Volt should be an ok player. So we are down to your MP3 files and the way you burn them.

Use that to scan your files first.

(And P.S. I notice that you have double posted this issue. Do not do that again)

Thanks, I'll get using that scan.

Ok, I've made sure that the files that I've used are at least not bad quality. I tried burning at a lower speed (8x) and the cd player wont even READ the cd. It's probally something I am doing. I would RTFM but the cd player didn't come with one.

Here's what I am doing:
-Choosing to create a DATA cd in NERO(most recent version)
-Using 6 folders with a total of 140 songs taking up 580 MB out of a possible 700 MB.
-Choosing to burn the cd at 8x and finalize it.
-Verifying written data when the burn is complete.

After doing this the CD would not read in my player, what's wrong with those steps? Thanks.

Sorry, I won't DP again, sorry.
