After about two weeks of researching, I'm about ready to bite the bullet and buy the Panny DMR-E85H. Good ratings from consumers.

Here's my dliemna:
1. This is the most knowledgeable Board going, how do you guys rate this one? The best price I've found is around $420 if I buy from Amazon (so I can return it if it has defects).
2. How well does the TV Guide work with DishNetwork? I read the Guide does well with Cable, but saw no mention of Satellite?
3. Converting VHS tapes to DVD-R. Users on another Board said they had difficulty. I don't mind the 2-step process of burning to DVD-RAM or HDD before re-burning to DVD-r. Is this still a problem?
4. If I need to edit, I can do it on my NEC PC burner. (Also with the suggestions to use SHRINK.) The only problem: the NEC from Dell is DVD+R while the Panny is DVD-R, Is this a big problem?)

Thanks for all the detailed advice on this Board. The depth of information is absolutely the "Best on the Web". My decision will be based on your suggestions.
