Hey all, new to the boards....obviously. Anyway, I have been working with the Independence Installer trying to get it to load up the mc exploit but I am running into a problem. My question for everyone here is, can I boot backups using my gameshark2 version 2.3?? Thanks in advance for all answers...

There are three steps to patching a game from PAL to NTSC.

1)Make an ISO file of the game
2)Patch the ISO file
3)Burn the patched ISO file

1)Make an ISO file of the game
a)Download and install DVD Decrypter. The download is available at www.dvddecrypter.com/index.php?act=download
b)Run DVDDecrypter.exe
c)Select Mode-->Iso-->Read
d)For the Source, choose the dvd drive that has the game in it.
e)For the Destination, select a location to save the ISO file.
f)Select File-->Decrypt. This will now create the ISO for the game.

2)Patch the ISO file
a)Download PS2 PAL TO NTSC PATCHER WITH Y-FIX V1.05 BETA ***You can download it here: www.geocities.com/jayteemaster2003/ps2_pal2ntsc_yfix.zip
b)Run ps2_pal2ntsc_yfix.exe
c)Click Browse and select the iso file of the game
d)Select 48 as the Y-Fix offset. You cannot have it perfectly centered because the PAL signal has more lines or resolution than the NTSC signal does.
e)I choose to uncheck Make PN Selector
f)Click PATCH FILE. The following screen will pop up.

g)This means that the elf file of the game was backed up to your hard drive. Just click ok and exit the program.

3)Burn the patched ISO file
a)Run DVDDecrypter.exe
b)Select Mode-->Iso-->Write
c)For the Source, locate your patched ISO file.
e)For the Destination, select the dvd drive you wish to burn the game.
f)Select your prefered write speed
g)Select File-->Write. This will now burn the game.

For cd-rom games, I suggest using burnatonce.

Using burnatonce 0.99.5 - http://62.253.162.11/burnatonce/42/bao0995.exe

Create an ISO File
Select Read/Copy-->Read to Image. Click ok and save as ISO Image File type.

Burn an ISO File
Select File-->Load New Image. Load and burn the ISO Image File.
