hello - i have a jap ps2 (schp 10000) and recently installed a messiah 2 pro chip.

chip works fine as do backup games i have bought (for £4!) from a dodgy shop while abroad BUT i have just downloaded metal gear solid 3 and it doesn't work.

using a sony dvd+/-r drive, nero or alcohol at lowest speed and maxell dvd-rw's. anyone think my problem is media??

could there be anything else to do with the iso? i know with some xbox games, craxion sorts them out...

That model does not read -/+rw media and likely doesn't take +r either. Try high quality -r media such as Verbatim burned at 1x to see if your problem goes away.

ok, i tried a TDK branded DVD-R and burned at 1x speed.

this time, it went to a black screen so made a bit of progress.

any ideas anyone? i'll try another backup when i, er, make one...
