HELP: Error reading ALL CDRW's

Hey guys,
I'm trying to load this dashboard (EvoX) on my comp using Slayer's installer. I have burned the installers ISO on several CDRW brands (memorex, ritek, phillips, etc..) and my xbox will not read any of them, even after rebooting the machine 10+ times. My modchip just came in today, so I'm about to install it. Does my modchip have to be installed for my xbox to read the cdrw? I was trying to see if the ISO would work before installing the chip so I would have everything ready when the chip came in. Let me know if you can. It will not let me burn to DVD-R discs, nero says it has to be cd-r/rw discs.

THanks and sorry, I really do not know much about this stuff, I'm just modding because someone jacked a few of my games from my house.
