Is Fliptop normally noisy?

I have a V9 PS2 and just got my FlipTop. It went on without a problem (it had the little white disc in the lid and I didn?t have to take anything off my PS2 lid and put on my fliptop). There was 1 big screw that came with it, I did not see where it would go so I don?t think I need it.

It works, kind of noisy when it starts up a spin, is this normal? Sort of like a grinding / scraping noise for a few seconds then it stops.

try swaping the white disc from your orignal ps2 with the one that came with your fliptop

Any special way to do this? Just pry it out with a screwdriver?

i had the same problem, turns out i tightned the scews to much. Check out your ps2 and just loosen them a little bit and it should stop that noise. hope this works for you.

Same with me. I swapped the original whit disc, same thing. Loosening the screws helped . When I use a little force and pull the cover forward slightly the grinding disappears. Very little noise now if I don't load discs with the tray and use only the flip top.
