Okay I have a question... one of the afterdawn threads says that all you do with the slidecard is open the disk tray but some other places say something about taking the front of your ps2 off? I mean to me that sounds like some newb (like myself) acting like some big shot pro... but what im seeing is that afterdawn is almost always right and those others are off... in this case am I correct?

In order to use the slide card you must remove the front cover of the disc tray.
