I'm trying to burn at 1x with Ritek G04's. This burner says it supports 1x burning.

I have tried DVD Decrypter and selected 1x. Have tried alcohol 120 and Nero. Can only get 4x to burn.
When I put a blank Ritek G04 into the drive and select ISO>Write, in the right pane it says "supported speeds" 4x.

Now I know you can burn this media at 1x, I have seen a lot of people on these forums talking about it.
Is there anything I have to do special, besides messing with the firmware? I don't feel like taking the chance and ruining my burner.
