I have two homemade slide cards. The last one I had was smaller than the dimensions on the forum suggested but it still worked like a charm but then... it wouldnt work anymore... it would pull it out fine but I couldnt grab the pin to re-lock it. The brand new one I made with the correct dimensions wont even pull it out all the way... any suggestions? No I did not "snap the pin clean off"

So you can unlock the pin, but not lock it? I don't see how that is possible unless you pushed the pin too far to the right, pushing it off the tray's underside track that it glides through.
In which case, i suggest opening up the top, the drive's cover, and the tray itself to move the peg back in position for the track.

okay... thank you... I suppose I could be pushing the pin too far to the right... what it is is I cannot get ahold of the pin in order to pull it back to the left

Have you taken a flashlight and looked through the front tray area, to see where exactly the peg is. That might help you aim where you're trying to get that slidecard to reach.

Sorry the dimensions are I have a mini one and it is (2 1/8 inches tall and a little less than 1 1/2 inches wide at the widest part) its the one that used to work... the new one is 3 inches tall and 2 inches wide at the widest part... on both of them the slits are 1/4 inches deep and 1/8 inches wide
