Hello All: I trying to rip a movie using Smartripper. When the movie rips it rips in the form of an MPEG. This is what is says exactly: MPEG video/audio stream. When I play the movie, it plays fine but no audio. Does anyone have any advice? I would appreciate any help you can give. Thank you.

It sounds like you have ripped just the video. Did you use 'stream processing' and specify 'demux to extra file' ?

Need more info on exactly how you ripped the VOBs.

Yes. I specified. I did exactly as the newbie website said. It keeps showing up and an quicktime format - mpeg. I had uninstalled quicktime a few months ago.

Does anyone know what might be wrong? I have uninstalled and installed smartripper twice and I'm still getting the same problem. I have tried to use DVDecrypter and had the same problem. It still rips the movie into an mpeg form and not a m2v file.

I think that you'll find that it is an m2v file.

Are you have problems loading into tmpeg or another program ? I have used both rippers & get a similar filename. I've then gone on to shrink the movie & create a dvd from the files.

It won't play audio 'cos the audio is saved to a seperate file.
Tell me what you want to do next with the file & I'll try & help.
