Unless you have a DC Coder's cable or a BBA adapter for the Dreamcast you will be limited to downloading and burning Dreamcast backups. Yes there is a downloadable boot disc although most of the newer backups available on the Internet will not require it. Also note that no modification of any kind is needed to boot CD-R's as long as your Dreamcast isn't one of the last models that are not CD-R compatible.

It depends on how you want to approach this problem. If you simply wish to download and burn Dreamcast game images all you need is a program capable of burning disc image formats that you download. If you wish to rip your original game discs for burning you should check out http://www.megagames.com for links to the software required for that.

so now i have the softwer. where do i get the games from. i have been clicking on some of the links there but, they seem to be out of use. so i was wandering wer do i get these games from? i know i can use my games i have in my collection. and im going to make copys of them as spares. but i still would like to get some new games off here. another thing is, i heard that you could play, nes, snes, and sega genisis games on the dreamcast by burning them the same way you would burn a d.c game. but r thay the only games i can play on my dream cast? or can i play others like psx, N64, GB, or GBA. im thinking of the graphics and bit these consoles use. and i know the dream cast has a higher bit rate and is faster in terms of use, so please could any one help on these 2 questions? thank you in advance :)

Good luck finding Dreamcast games. Since it's an obsolete console the games are pretty hard to find. As far as emulators go, you'll have to go searching around the Internet. I know they made Sega Genesis, SNES, NES, and even a Neo Geo emulator but I'm not sure about others.

.CDI extension is used by Disc Juggler, a less popular CD burning program. If you download Daemon Tools you can mount .CDI files as virtual discs or I've also heard that Alcohol 120% can handle .CDI files as well.

what about the files that are 001 - 00X??? i use HJsplit to join those files but the output has a *.file extension or just a file with no extensions. i renamed it for Nero or Discjuggler but Nero has some other specs that arent compatible with the file and Discjuggler runs with errors for me. Please help me with this anyone. Thank you in advance and happy new year!
