Hi folks,

First post on here folks as i have been able to find everthing through searching through the forum. thanks to all for there help.

OK the problem im having is with backups using dvdshrink and decrypter (scubapete big thumbs up for the setup) and a Plextor PX708A. The media is Ritek G05 printable DVD. The burns finish and the tune plays and decrypt says job is complete but when I take the discs out the have an intermittent burn pattern (not a smudge). The burn might cover 1/2" then 1/8" of unburned dye the 1/16" burn then 1/4" of unburned dye even as far as 1/50" burn or unburned dye etc etc there is no pattern at all to the coasters they are all different.

If I could post pics ot the coasters I would.

Does this sound like a burner problem or could this be a media one.

I hope I have given enough info. Anyone had experiences like this before.

I only use +R media in my 708A. I have read many posts trashing the G05 media, but I have not tried it. Hopefully, someone who has had success with the G05 will stop in and post.

For now, if you have any of the GO4 media, try that. If it burns properly, then you know the GO5 is junk.

Iv'e tried fuji media and it has the same results.

However, I have been able to write to cd's with no problem.

Anyone with any technical knowledge able to help.
