Hey all, I'm wondering if someone can help me.

First of all, I have used both Alcohol and CloneCD to back up my PSX games, but each time I go to maximum speed 8x is the lowest I can get, is this because of my CD burner? I though I remember burning something before (I think a music CD) 1x by accident but I dunno... 8x works, but the game skips a bit, I thought it may have been the brand of CD but my friend burnt it on his comp using the same CD but he burnt it at 1x and it works fine. Is there anyway to force my comp to burn at 1x or anything?

My second question, is there anyway I can patch my Tactics Ogre game from NTSC to PAL? I tried the PAL4U program (or something) and it stops halfway giving me an error, but that doesn't happen when I tried it on my Saga Frontier file, I read that some games can't be patched, is Tactics Ogre one of them? The only reason I want it patched is to fix the screen, I downloaded a patch but it was for the Japanese version to PAL, anyone know of a/if it's possible to create a US NTSC to PAL patch for Tactics Ogre? Thanks for any help.

Verbatim CD's and I'm just using the normal burner that came with my PC (I have a packard bell if that helps, not sure)
