Hello I have just copied lor 3 on ps2 using DVD Decrypter i selected read iso it copied to the hard drive but when i went to burn the required files to disk it changed to : Lord of the rings.mds instead of iso also do you need a chip in the playstation to play backed up games? have read through many discussions but still it doesn't work

Hi Sly yes I did and found it to be extremely helpful but the thing that worried me was it changed the extension once it copied to the hard drive, The game copied to DVD+ but when inserted it into the play station it asked for a playstation disc or compatible disc, would this be from the extension change? or do i need to make a boot disk of some sort We don't have a mod chip installed.
Thanks Heaps for the advice

it didn't change the extension. The .mds file points to the image, so when you burn that, you are actually burning the image.

Hey Sly, u seem to know a lot, I have a major problem with backing up PSX games for PS2. I keep getting the red screen of death. I have tried burning it every way possible, I think, using Alcohol as both PS1 and PS2 versions, and Nero as well. My mod chip is a Duo 2SE, ver 7. I have at one point actually got into a game, only to have it freeze in the intro. My backed up PS2 DVD games work fine as well as original PSX games, well the ones that aren't all scratched anyway. I have tried all different types of starting up the PS2. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
